The Pastoral Counseling Center of the Mid-Willamette Valley...
Throughout its more than thirty-year history, the professional community of pastoral counseling professionals has wrestled with varied visions for the practice of this unique clinical ministry. Our community has consistently agreed about the unique power and relevance of our specialized clinical ministry, but has rather consistently disagreed about what, exactly, that unique power and relevance is. Consequently, quite a number of different visions for the responsible practice of our ministry have emerged. At the Pastoral Counseling Center of the Mid-Willamette Valley, we believe we are living one important vision for the practice of our profession. Through the forum of the World Wide Web, among others, we hope to inform our pastoral counseling colleagues around the world about our unique vision for the practice of the ministry of pastoral counseling and psychotherapy, to benefit from collegiate reflection and criticism about our work, and to promote continued professional discussion about how we may all be doing our work better. |
